SEEDS Educational Services created a series of Fire Awareness and Prevention vignettes which feature many actors with disabilities and fire survivors. Part 1 emphasizes smoke alarm awareness and home escape.  The vignettes were designed to be used in conjunction to the whole curriculum -- not to be used alone.

Most people are hurt or killed in a fire because they don't know what to do. People with developmental disabilities may not be able to take life‐saving actions in a timely manner. They may wait for verbal instructions or simply wait to be rescued.
Through a grant from the U.S. Fire Administration and in partnership with Fire Protection Publications and Oklahoma State University, SEEDS has created a Fire Educator's Kit included in the kit is:
 1   Fire Educator training manual and DVD 
 1   Initial Fire Training for people with developmental disabilities with DVD and script
 2  Fire Education Curricula with DVD movies staring our actors
     A.  How To Be Fire Safe Part 1  (smoke alarm awareness and home escape lessons)
      B.  How To Be Fire Safe Part 2  ( in home fire prevention lessons)
  4  Posters for students  ( 1- Home Escape and 3 - in home prevention (dryer-cooking-smoking safety)
