Seeds Educational Services, Inc.
SEEDS Educational Services, Inc., is a non-profit organization established in 1987, that has broad experience in
creating personal safety curriculum with proven results. We deliver trainings and educate people with cognitive
disabilities and those assisting them.
Research indicates that people with developmental disabilities are at high risk of being sexually and physically
assaulted. Even more alarming is that statistics show 97% are well known and TRUSTED by the person.
Seeds was launched in 1987 in response to the growing number of sexual abuse cases involving people with developmental
disabilities. SEEDS is continually expanding and reaching broader audiences to educate all persons regarding this
epidemic.
Our credits include: Public School Districts, Transition Classrooms, Arc-San Diego Work and Residential Programs,
Home of Guiding Hands, Multiple Parent Groups including SELPA and PASS, San Diego Regional Center, San Diego Sheriffs
Dept., U.S. Fire Dept. and FEMA, Dept. of Homeland Security, and the International Conference on Disability and

Dear Parents and Care Providers:
This letter is to inform you that an educational opportunity provided by Seeds Educational Services, Inc. will
be offered for ________________. This course allows students to learn about appropriate social-sexual boundaries
and assist with building healthy relationships with friends and loved ones.
Seeds Educational Services is a non-profit educational organization that supports people with developmental disabilities.
The organization provides various services such as social-sexual classes, trainings and behavioral consulting to
teach strategies in dealing with social-sexual concerns within the community. They have provided in-service training
for our staff to train to teach our participants how to build appropriate boundaries in their relationships with
others.
There have been some concerns and interest about this issue among program participants, staff and parents. We have
decided to provide social-sexual educational classes to our program to address these needs. Classes will begin
on ________________.
We believe that this opportunity will empower each individual to build safe and meaningful relationships. However,
we do understand that this is a sensitive subject and therefore, have enclosed a brochure. If you have any concerns
you may contact Stacy Everson, Executive Director of Seeds Educational Services, Inc. to obtain more detailed information.
Prior to attending class on _________________ each participant must complete the enclosed packet.
Sincerely,
|
